Hi! My husband JUST started going gluten free and I am finding it to be quite an interesting cooking adventure. Today I made him his favourite dessert: cheesecake!

Hi, new member...
Hi, my name is Tiffani and I was newly diganosed with SEVERAL food allergies.The laundry list includes:

Peanuts and all of its derivatives
Tomatos and all of its derivatives
Soybeans and all of its derivatives
Corn and all of its derivatives
Potatoes and all of its derivatives
Apples <~ I am still scratching my head on this one...
Wheat-*le sob* and all of its derivatives
Oats - Well there goes bread for me, the only bread I used to eat was wheat and whole grain types


Aside from my thinking I am up that creek with out a paddle, What can I eat when I am allergic to most of the alternatives?

And where can I eat out In Phoenix since cooking has pretty much been killed for me now.

I am sorry to post a whine here, but I am scared, confused and generally pissed off and do not know where to go for answers. I asked my doctor to test me for Celiac but he refuses to do it stating that it would have presented by now, so now I have to hunt down a Gastrointerologist[SP], so I can figure out what is really going on.

Sorry if this post offends. Thank you for letting me vent

Whither White Flour?
So I've been trying to find a wheat-free "all purpose" flour. I haven't. However, I've used several sources and more than a little mathematical acrobatics (mathemobatics?) to come up with a flour to use as a starting point in recipes. What follows are recipes for both the flour, and some delightful dark chocolate and walnut brownies.

Welcome Back, Mac!
Living with a wheat intolerant person has made me reexamine some of the things I take for granted as a wheat-eater. Macaroni and Cheese was a favorite of my dear friend laurak29, but it had been ten years since she'd last eaten it.

Arguably the best Macaroni and Cheese ever. AND it's wheat-free.Collapse )

One final note on this stuff - it's very rich (obviously), so you're likely to have leftovers. It freezes and reheats beautifully. :-)
